A First

Hmmm, I suppose it is half a first. Maybe 3/4 of a first. For my sister's birthday I was making her socks...my very first pair. I have run into a problem~they are tight on me and my sisters foot is WAY bigger so no socks for her. I could keep going and give them to {l} but I don't really like the pattern (burning rings of fire) and am basically no longer interested.

Renee, here was your birthday present which you won't be receiving...what is it that they say? Something about it being the thought that counts?!?

OH YEAH, KATY OF KATYKNITS, PLEASE INVITE ME TO YOUR BLOG. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOUR WORK AND GET TO KNOW YOU!

14 people are laughing with me:

I think they look great! Don't give up on socks. Once you get the hang of it you'll love making them. Try the book Sensational Knitted Socks, for good sizing.

And if not Keri, for me. My feet are really, really small. ;)

I started a pair of socks last night. For me. We'll see how it goes---I've made 3 before: a tester, and a pair for the little princess. She actually wears them even though I screwed up the kitchenering on one.

Sorry to disappoint you Regina but both the blogs on my list are empty. And if you are knitting socks then you definately wouldn't be interested in any of the little things I knit! But I'll comment more on your blog and get to know you more on here (and if I start blogging I'll invite you or make it public). =)

I don't know anything, but socks seem like they would be SO hard!! Especially making 2 the same size? Anyway it looks cute. I think you should finish them!!

think they look sweet! YOu know a great pattern would be the one from the Yarn Harlot. Shoot... what book was that in... anyway, it is a way to customize to whoever, just by measuring they calves. That was how I made Tony's.
Ah this is it: http://www.amazon.com/Knitting-Rules-Yarn-Harlots-Tricks/dp/1580178340/ref=pd_bbs_sr_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233113936&sr=8-5
Don't give up!!!

I think that they look stunning and remarkably like the hand warmers. Just call 'em feet warmers. I'm sure it will work out GREAT! Socks are just toe warmers. Who gets cold toes anyway? It is all about cold FEET!

Yeah, they are "funky"...especially because of the foot model.
