Curriculum thoughts

Next year I am thinking of going a different route with homeschooling and could use some help. Do you know of any good, SECULAR curriculums/books for grammar, reading, science, spelling, US history and handwriting??

8 people are laughing with me:

Other than coming up with your own curriculum, not really. Most of the packaged stuff is affiliated with a religion, generally Christianity.

I've heard lots of good things about K12 which is secular. If that doesn't suit you, let me know. I can probably come up with some other resources.

I'm with Keri. ;) Think of the peace and quiet. Easy home educators, just kidding. . . sorta! ;)

Calvert. It's pricey, but a few local homeschoolers use it through the virtual academy.

We made the switch to K12 last year. I have been really, really pleased with it. Our state offers a charter school option which allows to enroll in a virtual academy that uses K12 so it is free for us. Not sure if your state has that option, but it sure is nice to have a great curriculum without the high price tag.

we use charter for funds to purchase curriculum too. but i am so hesitant to recommend it to you for so many reasons. if you want to know more email me privately.
you could come up with your own by picking and choosing. are you thinking more charlotte mason or well-trained mind? or baby is on the way and you need to simplify?
