Wow-13

Why do I even bother with this??
So, as usual, the week started with a bang and ended with a whimper. Not even a whimper really, just a wimp. I just read Laura's
post regarding a friend with throat cancer who is going through chemo therapy. She quotes him as saying, "My spirits are good and I will continue to fight." Why am I not fighting for myself??

I can't have Dr Pepper anymore.

Boo hoo.

He is going through chemo therapy, fighting for his life. I can't even muster the energy to go for a long walk. I bet he would give lots to trade "problems." Last week my brother in law asked me to design a background for his new marathon blog. Yes, the very same brother in law who recently had open heart surgery. He wants to run a marathon, but his blog sits empty because of new problems he is having. I bet he would give lots to trade "problems."

Max can't just walk outside and grab himself a new heart. Mike can't run to the kitchen and swap-out his throat. They have no control over their problems.

I do.

And I will take control.

I WILL.

For Mike. . . maybe even for Max (a wee little bit for Max).

Holding steady, I am.
This post is powerful! Instead of thinking about it, I'm going to do it. Better yet, my youngest wants a BK croissandwich and when I take him to get it, I will not get one myself. I'll even pass on the cheesey tots (those are heavenly). I'll have my wheat toast and coffee with THANKSGIVING.

The movers are coming today to find out how many boxes etc. they'll need to bring on the 20th of May . . . so I'll be cleaning like crazy to be somewhat presentable. I have plans to take a walk later, too. Someone is coming to take our cat to their home today . . . after that, I'll need a nice walk.

God bless you and hang in there - get moving!

i'm holding steady - crap!
i'm about 22 lbs down from the get go - and really, it's nothing. i think my scale might have been *off* b4 it broke down - cause i don't *see* that much diff in my clothing - last yr when i did SB, I did see it... a lot! so it's been discouraging needless to say [again!] -

Pops brought doughnuts into our home. I went to Little Flowers and tried my own "treats." I went to a rodeo and afterwards celebrated my big girl's mutton bustin' success with a DQ Reese's PB Cup Blizzard. Yesterday I had a birthday. It has not been a good "eating" week. Booo Hooo...

+2 lbs.

I am exactly the same as last week -- which was a shocker! I thought for sure I'd be up... I better be careful over Easter or I'll definitely have a gain next week.

Thanks for the awesome motivation Regina!

Regina, that was awfully sweet. Max appreciate your kind words.

Max's wife cannot seem to find her own motivation. Well, having stomach flu helped yesterday. I lost almost seven pounds. I'm sure I'll be plus 8 by tomorrow morning! NO I WON'T!--I'm going to control myself this time!

Hang in there.

Oh my gosh, I totally forgot it was Wednesday! We've been busy with a big tree out in front of our house!

I don't think I've had any weight change though.

Just can't shake those pounds. Pig, fat zeroella for this week. I think I'm going to have to wait until after the marathon (oh, my achin' joints) to take a few weeks off and really lose the weight. If I cut calories now, I won't have energy to run...it's a vicious cycle.
