A world has opened

The sun is shining.
The birds are singing.

The kids are laughing.
Seriously folks, it is that good. I learned a new little trick today. Well, I learned via someone else's blog but I was the one who had to do the sewing. That's right, sewing. I am NOT a seamstress. Matter of fact, I suck as sewing! But today I hemmed my pants. YIPPY. Now those of you who can sew don't scoff me for doing such an easy task—there was a bit of a trick involved. The problem with being short is most pants don't fit me. Before children I could check out the petite section, since children—not so much. Not that big of a deal except I hate the look of hemmed pants. Regardless of how you try, you can't make them look as good as the original hem. Well watch out world, I found these instructions and they work like a charm.
Before
After
Bwahahaha petite section, good riddance-unless, of course, I am able to shed this dreaded weight...then perhaps I will come crawling back to you. Not likely though cuz I'm a badass seamstress now!!

6 people are laughing with me:

Found you through Jessica at Shower of Roses...

I have that dreaded pants-are-too-long-no-matter-what-size-I-get problem too. Last time, I took a cue from the younger crowd. I put the pants on, fold the legs up to the correct length and marked with a sharpie (oh, how I love sharpies!). I took the pants off and proceeded to cut off the extra. Then I washed them. I've now got a pair of "trendy" frayed jeans (at least I think there trendy...could be wrong about that though since I will be 35 in a few more months) Oh well. :-)

hey they look great. So I guess interrupting you wasnt a prob. I talked to mom yesterday and she was commenting on the fred flintstone feet. She acted like she was surprised by them. Gee you would think that that was old news by now. Love the pants.

Are those your toddler's toes peeking out from under those pants?

Seriously, how do you balance on those things? How do you not just tip over?
