Can you feel my pain

I started the night with this.

And ended it with this
I am working on these for Boo. You start with the legs...I casted on 88 for the first leg but only 80 for the other. I realized it once I joined them but kept working-I was in denial. I finished the top and hoped, since the legs are worked with a provisional cast-on*, I could frog the leg from the bottom up to the join. I did but then couldn't figure out how to work the crotch since you seam the 2 legs together and put 18 live stitches on hold (which are the ones to be seamed). I gave up. I am now crying in the fetal position.

*provisional cast-on just means you cast on with a 'waste' yarn that you will go back and cut out, put the live stitches back on a needle then start knitting again. For these pants the bottom ruffle is done AFTER you've done the rest of the leg so you start from the bottom, knit up, join the legs, continue knitting the top. Once you have done that you go back to the bottom of the legs, take off the provisional cast-on, put the stitches back on a needle then knit the ruffle.

15 people are laughing with me:

lisa-are you learning/do you know how to knit? it is easy and you will understand the directions once you start doing it.

Ohhh, I feel for you Regina. Did you hear my sigh, my downcast eyes. All that work and you have nothing to show for it. So sad. But.... on our ranch our motto is, "Nobody died, so it was a success."

i'm just so sick of you *showing off* your craftiness! and then - *then* - you want us to feel sorry for you. LOL!!

I'm sure it'll be great when it is all done - right. Your dd will look LOVELY in it. Be sure to take pictures!

Oh, and being able to put those little cute white words on your pictures - SHOW OFF! ;-)

blahblahblah. Knitting is for people who don't know how to shop at stores that sell stuff made on knitting machines. That takes WAY less time and your fingers don't get all arthritic.

If your pain is in your *** then yeah, I feel it alright.

I'm lovin' Shelly and Laura! I think they're very wise women! And, I'm still feeling that same pain as yesterday! ;)

Wow, it's been like, three point two seconds since you last posted. What's wrong, you fall in or something?

The Wades said...

OK, I feel sorry for you. That does look like a lot of work for nothing. Bummer. I guess the time I've had to read this post over and over has let me see things through your point of view. I apologize for my pained comments. :)
